About Lore & Lace

               Hi! I'm Clara, Owner and Curator of Lore & Lace. I offer vintage and second-hand elegance for the strange and ravenous. 

               In 2025, I found myself in somewhat of a mid-life transition and rediscovered my long lost love of vintage nightgowns. I could barely eat or sleep as my brain added yet another neurodivergent special interest to it's library. I also have a fascination with storytelling, especially folklore blended with old world elegance and creative imagery. My primary career role is working with death, grief, and trauma. It's important for me to counterbalance the heavy and evil parts of the world with beauty and whimsy. Life is too short for anything less. 

One of my childhood best friends snapped the above photo when we were 14. The day that I made Lace & Lore a reality outside of a thought in my head was the day that I found out she had passed away from cancer. I knew then that I had to throw myself at this new venture with all I had and to quit living like a cryptid in the shadows. Of course, I wouldn't have had the confidence to start if I didn't have the support of my friends and family. I thank them a thousand times over. 

I asked Chris, my photographer husband, to recreate the photo my late friend took when we were young teens. He plays a vital role in the success of my little vintage business and I couldn't have asked for a better partner.
